Painter Guirand de SCEVOLA , posted as a telephone operator in the Pont-à-Mousson sector, noticed how vulnerable were the pieces of ordnance and fancied dissimulating them under coloured canvasses. Thus he invented camouflage and will form the first camouflage section with several artists as Dunoyer de Segonzac.
